Following on from my upgrade question yesterday.....
Getting a mid-2012 MacBook Pro over the weekend and at some point I'll probably be doing a clean OS install onto an SSD.
So, given that this is an v 9.2 A1278 - 2554 model with i7 processor and 8Gb RAM, which would be the best OS to install, straight to Mojave?
There will be no software constraints as it's probably just going to run Office and Chrome.
I have a similar age Mac Mini running Mojave with no problems.
My Mid-2012 Pro, i5 8Gb 1TB mechanical HD is running Mojave (10.14.2). All good.
Depends on any existing software you want to run... But if there aren't any, then no reason not to install the latest OS, that machine has plenty enough power still.
I've never had a mac run noticably slower after an OS upgrade, in fact there's usually an improvement. Run the latest it will support.
I've got a 13" macbook of similar vintage with an SSD. It wouldn't take Mojave but it never feels slow in use - still a fine computer.
2012 rMBP here. Mojave installed with no problems.
Yep go straight for Mojave.
