Dell Chromebook 11: designed for education and robust.

I've seen them at £140 refurbished on the Dell store.
I recently added one if the hp ones to my collection of samsungs. On paper the later generation hp should have been slicker but it isn't. I would go for the Acer over the hp, since I'm not sure Samsung are still in the game.
I've got the Acer c720 and a larger Acer which I cant remember the name of. The 720 gets used all the time and the smallness is a bonus, they are great bits of kit. They both have HDMI.
One thing to look out for on the 720, mine developed a line across the screen which looks like it is a result of the bottom part of the keyboard pressing against it when the lid is closed. It has been well looked after so this was a bit disappointing, it hadnt been "squashed" in my bag but was probably just pressed quite lightly between papers etc. You cant see it when the screen is on only when it is powered off so not the end of the world.
The Sunday times have a review of chrome books today.
Toshiba Chromebook 2 CB30-B-104, £270
Best for Value
Verdict Good looks and performance, and a gorgeous screen.

Dell Chromebook 11, £214
Best for Students
Verdict Tough, practical and portable. The display is a letdown, though.
????? dell.co.uk
the displays can be a bit of a letdown on the usual suspects.
The Toshiba is reported as having a decent IPS display - which sets it apart - unless your considering a Pixel.
The problem is nobody seems to actually have the Toshiba to sell - that and it's not dirt cheap anymore..
If you find one - do share!
ps be aware Toshiba offer 2 Chromebook2's -- only one has the decent screen!
Another recommendation for an acer c720 here. Bought mine from ebay over a year ago virtually new for £100. Gets used daily, rarely turn the windows laptop on these days.
Not sure I would want to pay full price for a new one though.
spent the day with him today, and thought we'd mention chromebooks in general conversation, see what his reaction would be.
can you believe the little oik poohpoohed them?? 😐
sorry, it seems i may have wasted your time, but thanks anyway 😳
funnily enough I've just bought a Toshiba chromebook 2 myself. Certainly tricker than the Samsung it replaces, and I'm more than impressed.
