Was that 7 different fitters or all the same person?

Who ever had the nicest eyes.

We've a Worcester Bosch and it hasn't missed a beat.

I'd probably go for the Worcester with the 5 yr warranty

Remember, the warranty is void if you do not keep a service record like a car!

Go for the worcester and if its fitted by an approved fitter and registered then you get 7 years warranty.

Just out of interest (as I know Worcester seem to be the benchmark) but why would the Baxi with 10yr warranty be such a bad buy?

If Baxi are offering that length of warranty surely they're pretty sure of the quality?

Unless there are loads of get out clauses in the warranty eg power flush the system every 6 months etc

Just had ideal logic + 35 fitted 7 yr warranty, and very reasonable as I know the fitter (who will come once a year and service and fill in the necessary paper work to maintain warranty)

Buying a WB is worth it for the aftercare alone IMO..... Their engineers do a fixed-price "we will throw parts/labour at it until it works". Not as good as knowing a good heating engineer - but much better than playing "tradesman roulette" when the little red flashing light comes on

The Viessmann that you appear to have missed off your list.

That's a really good price on the Vaillant.
Had Worcester (CDI extra, 1999 model) prior to the Vaillant we have now and it caused no end of trouble: Blocked condensate trap (no access to this) causing 3 blown fans; Diverter Valve also failed. Final straw was the whole boiler needing to be taken to pieces to replace the expansion vessel. The new ones have the same setup (except the top of the range CDI).

Chicken - usually just add an expansion vessel somewhere else in system when they are impossible to get at. They aren't the only boiler that suffers with that.

The reason the Baxi has a 10 year warranty is they are trying to buy business as they have had some poor products in the few years which has hurt their business I suspect and are trying to get themselves back into the domestic boiler market.

Personally I prefer Worcester, I fit more of them, maintain more of them but seem to repair less of them than other makes, even Vaillants although they are pretty good too.

I have the "WORCESTER BOSCH 28i JUNIOR" and it,s a cracker, RF20 thermostat thingy as well.
Highly recommended, in line with everyone else here, good to see!
Had a Baxi previously (different property) - utter utter sh*te. Constant problems with the gas injection nozzle. You have been warned! 🙂

As a Gas Engineer myself, get the Vaillant, Worcester aren't all that great and that seems to be a decent price.

Do you really want a combi? They always seem to be spawn of the devil to me.

Fwiw, I had a Worcester 30cdi system boiler (with fancy FW100 controller) installed last May and it's been brilliant. 1930s house with suspended floors and solid walls and it's cut our gas bill by 40% and made the house vastly more comfortable.

Mine was around 3 grand fitted, mind, but I did need some other bits and pieces doing as well and I used a plumber not known to be cheep but my family has used him for twenty years, so we knew the quality of work.

Oh, and warranty... Ours is covered for 8 years as long as we have it serviced yearly. Already had them out once as the pump appeared to be running full time, and they didn't quibble. Just sent one of their own engineers out straight away who gave the whole thing a good going over.

We have a vailliant but the 31kw model. Been fitted 3 years and been completely fault free and it just works.

If you go for vailliant spend the extra to get the weather compensator controls and the vrc 470 f control unit.
