...plan is to leave London on Friday (via the M1) at about 2ish.

Reason for going is having power steering fitted on my campervan,

Can either go with just her indoors and have a night away (MIL look after children) or take children with and hangout in SuA on Saturday.

So far nothing stands out the usual Travelsplodge/Premier inn are available, found this place ?

Anyone know it ?

Anyone recommend anywhere ? Rather keep costs down !

Thanks in advance

Get a narrow boat? Obvs you like cramped spaces and constant rocking.

The Stratford (not the Stratford Manor - it's a bit out of the way) is nice if you can get a good deal (ace location and it does a great breakfast). The Premier Inn Waterways is great vfm (esp if you take the kids), next to the canal - and a drive thru McDonald's - and five minutes walk from the centre of town. The White Swan is really nice esp if it's just the two of you. I'd pick the cheapest of those!

I'll second the White Swan over the Blue Boar - You could always try one of the guesthouses in Old Town.

YHA is showing as having a double en suite Friday. Lovely old building down a lane out of town.

Both Premier Inns are pretty good if you can't get in anywhere else suggested

Also rate the YHA.. basic but super low cost, decent enough bar, restaurant and self-catering facilities, close to town, free on-site parking..

Holiday Inn, a proper one that looks like it could have been in scarface

Premiere Inn waterways is good, parking is £3 cash in a machine job (I found out the hard way when I turned up with no change).
Travelodge is very slightly further out of town but normally cheaper and free parking. It's pretty new so standard modern Travelodge quality.
Neither of them have batted an eyelid when I've wheeled my bike through reception.

Thanks for all replies

It looks like the children and dog are now coming, travelodge/premier inn no dogs!
Blue boar let you bring dogs, yha dog sleeps in a kennel ( our dog would bark constantly!)

I think I’m better off going on my own !!!

Temple Grafton is about 5 miles outside Stratford. It’s pretty but if you’re after somewhere to stay IN stratty then the Swan might be better as said earlier.
