I have a pair of 1992 Air Jordan's that have been sitting in a cupboard for years. They're not mint, but I understand there are people out there that do weird shoe restoration type things if the shoe is collectible enough. I see Nike reissued some of the Jordan's a few years back, and even those are now sought after.
Any ideas where the best place might be to try to sell them and seal my early retirement fund?

eBay?
eBay's a good shout, if only for the buyer/seller protection policies. I used to trade in rare trainers while at Uni and there's plenty of skulduggery with PayPal chargebacks and the like. There's plenty of sneakerhead groups on Facebook, but like with anything just make sure you protect yourself.

Round the flats?
Daughter sells vintage clothes & shoes on www.depop.com and www.etsy.com, maybe there? She does really well from all what I think is tasteless crap from charity shops.
whilst far from a sneakerhead, I have a little bit of knowledge. Are they boxed? Size?
If they are air jordan VIIs with the silver and the signature....
Should be a style code on the size label, 6 digits followed by 3 - pop that number into eBay for a guide
i have bought collected, sold adidas for 15 years or so, worked at jjb as a lad and trainers stuck :0)
ebay is your best bet, stick on a fix priced, describe the condition as best you can, as above find the model code and year advertise as that.
i'm not an expert on nike soles but certain materials in the midsole can disintegrate on contact with water, i had some airmax (ewwww.) from around 1998, and i was selling them a few years ago, looked mint until i bent the instep over and they shattered, powder everywhere..
state on your listing as collectors item only cannot guarantee wear of materials in wet weather :0)
Thanks, a lot of good advice there. Fwiw, they're a 9, no box, in the iconic Bordeaux colour scheme. Apart from the size printed on the inside, I can't see any model number etc.
I read an article on the Guardian at the weekend on a stockmarket type setup for sneakers, have a look - I've never used this site though.

Looks like based on 1 sale you might get close to £300 for them!
Binnerette number one (aged 15) is obsessed with vintage trainers and clothing. Her latest addition is a spectacularly garish 80's Puma tracky top that, back in the day, even a scouser would baulk at as excessive, but nowadays actually looks really cool (as you're unlikely to see anyone else wearing it).
She buys and sells everything on Depop
