We will be in touch
Hey, we have a couple of Casios in the house and apparently it’s not possible to change them here in Spain!?! (because of the pressure seal apparently). I am returning to the UK for work next week and wondered if this is just nonsense and I can get them changed at any reputable high street store?
Can't you get the back off and do it yourself? Get the batteries from eBay or similar. But yeah, pretty sure that's not a problem in the UK.
Timpsons will probably do it for you while you wait and in my experience are way better than other high Street stores
Get a battery off amazon/ebay for a couple of quid tops and do it yourself?
Paying someone in timpsons to put a shonky battery in will litteraly cost twice what the watch is worth....
I've read somewhere about using a thin slither of silicone grease, but that might have been for screw down cases.
I used Timpson before for a quartz analogue, I paid the extra few quid for a 'lifetime' battery. Glad I did as the first lasted less than a year and it's on its 3rd - make of that what you will ... I barely wear the watch (prefer automatics). I'd buy better quality batteries and a tool kit and do it myself tbh.
Thanks for the replies. These are both Baby-Gs and the issue isn’t so much having the skills to change a battery, it’s more to do with the warerproofing/pressure seal etc
I’ve done a Gshock one, I didn’t find it any easier or harder than other watches tbh.
I found a video on youtube that showed how to do it.
I used a tiny smear of grease on the rubber seal, mostly to keep it in place.
It’s not difficult if you’re mechanically minded. Ebay is your friend here.
I’ve used places like timpsons and found them fine too, but if you do it yourself you know what kind of battery is in there eh.
If water proofing is key then consider diy and use a new seal.

I’ve given up going to jewellers for watch battery replacement as they’ve been so useless including one reputable shop killing the casing of an Alessi Aldo Rossi watch then claiming it wasn’t them. I’ve bought a toolkit and a selection of spare batteries and DIY it now.
Timpsons.
Will cost about £15 and for that you get a pressure test and free batteries for life as long as you don't lose the bit of paper.
buy a battery and a seal and do it yourself as above. I did my 10 year old G shock and its been fine since.
