Right you lot. Me and Mrs Binners are off for a rare child-free weekend there ๐Ÿ˜€

Its a while since I've been in that neck of the woods. Seeing as you lot will have doubtless sampled the culinary delights, and are all suitably [s]sniffy and opinionated[/s] discerning connoisseurs, where would you recommend? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Lets hear your glowing eulogies, and vicious denouncements of the available pubs and restaurants

fanks

Betws-y-Coed Bistro was top a few years ago - not been since. Had a really great meal there.

I had the trio of Welsh lamb - superb.

There is one chippy - DO NOT EAT THERE unless you want re-fried, sloppy and over-priced fish n chips...

Your options are limited tbh - i'd recommend going to the pub opposite the park with the large outside eating area (can't remember the name)

Lle Hari just up the road in Llanrwst is very nice for a meal with the Mrs. Further up the Conwy Valley is the Bodnant Welsh Food Centre with the Hayloft Restaurant, some good eating there.

Plus 1 for the Stables Inn although it does get busy.

12 of us went in there at about 7:30 on Saturday and there were no tables, but a bit of smooth-talking (not by me) got us a table next door in a separate dining room in the Royal Oak (owned by the same people).

We looked a little out-of-place amongst their normal clientele and the menu was a bit more restauranty rather than pub-foody but the food was good and the staff looked after us really well.

The cafe with the Gorillas does amazing cooked breakfasts. Especially after a night camping in a cloud overlooking Snowdon.

I've always sworn by the Pinnacle Cafe for breakfast (no marks for ambiance but sets you up for a day great!) and the bryntyrchinn.co.uk for all other meals/beer...

Thanks for the replies folks. Some nice looking stuff there. I imagine it's going to be pretty busy, so I might get a couple of bookings in now

Thanks

Bistro looks great! Ideal for Saturday after a days riding, I reckon ๐Ÿ˜€

Looking at the menu, Grum's suggestion of trio of Welsh lamb sounds fantastic!

Edit: just got the last booking available for Saturday night. Result! Might well try the pub suggested tomorrow night

If you are up around Capel Curig, Cobdens is pretty good too.

Bistro would be my first choice as an ex-(almost)-local. Great local food cooked very well.

*cancels booking at Bistro Sat night* Well I might have done if I'd thought to book. The waitresses looked easy on the eye last time I looked in. Now wondering where I'll be eating throughout the weekend.

Bistro is ok.
Too much money for what you get.
I don't mind spending for good food but Bistro needs to look at it's prices.
The Stables is perfect.
Nice food.
I am local.

EDIT: I can think of nowhere worse to Betws y Coed this weekend as it will be crawling with people.

I don't see Conwy Falls mentioned. It's on the turning for Penmachno. Nice food and vibe, but more for late breakfast/lunch than dinner.
