[Closed] Where to advertise ideal mtb'ers / outdoor persons house / holiday cottage?

Unfortunately we're having to sell our renovated Welsh long cottage in Snowdonia, and it's currently up for sale with a local estate agents. They've given it a reasonable general write-up, but not really focused on it's appeal to 'outdoor activity people' (where it's perfect if you're into biking, climbing, fell-running, etc etc - all do-able literally from the doorstep!). So we've had retired couples coming round, who aren't that keen on it's location in the mountains.

Trouble is, I'm not sure where (if anywhere) you can advertise a property for outdoor folks. Anyone got any ideas? Would you post it on the classifieds of forum like this? Are there any property for sale websites that focus on potential holiday cottages as this house would be perfect as either a 'resident' home, or a holiday place - it even has an in-house sauna for easing those post-actvity muscles ๐Ÿ™‚ It's a mixed community here of local people and a few holiday homes, so we know that it appeals to both.

So, any suggestions?

One suggestion, your paying the estate agent to sell your house. Contact them and ask them to add that into the description.

Or actually ask any interested agents how they would propose to sell the property given its potential interest to specialist groups.

Sue_W: this should have gone in the classifieds as I'm looking for a pad not too far from Bangor! Can you send details to email in profile?

How much is a quarter-page in the outdoorsy magazines (Trail, Country Walking and the like)? I imagine quite reasonable next to typical estate agents' fees.

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll have a word with the estate agents and ask them to add some of these points to the property details.

Hadn't thought about an ad in the outdoorsy magazines - really good idea! Will look into costs etc.

Saxabar - will send you details and will put this in the classifieds.

Must admit, this has made me think how much I love living here, so gutted to be leaving, but job changes make it a neccessity ๐Ÿ™

Maybe contact local holiday booking companies (Menai Bridge) as they may have some investors who are looking to increase their portfolios?

Ruddy - thanks! that's a really good idea, I never considered existing holiday cottages owners, but obviously some of them have numerous cottages as a business - would probably be worth sending them the details direct.
