Can't find my licence anywhere and need to provide my licence number for work related purposes.
Any ideas of how to get hold of it without ordering a new one?

Excuse obvious question but I assume you cannot find the paper part either ? Try DVLA directly is all I can suggest. FYI I take photos of all of this stuff now and keep it on computer, a balance between having a record and risk of being hacked.

Say my name is John Smith, born 21/10/58.
My licence number starts:
SMITH510218Jxxnn.
So there you go, only a few thousand guesses to get it right.

I know mine. I can't remember what I did yesterday but I can remember my driving licence number 😕
