Apologies for the whiny post, but need to vent somewhere!
last night on the way home I managed to put our (6month old)car in the ditch, through nothing more sinister than a bit of mud on the road as far as I could tell in the dark. Walked away without a scratch from a 50mph crash. Just getting that sorted with insurance etc this morning. From the look of it on the recovery truck, it’s facing either being written off, or a huge amount of repair.
Then my wife calls to say she’s ditched it on her bike on the way to work (we only have 1car, and she normally rides a few times a week) on a patch of black ice. Cue mini meltdown and by the sounds of it a scuffed up bike and wife.
Now I need to sort a car out quick (hopefully get away with using a work one for a few days) so we can go and bury her granny down in Dorset tomorrow.
Not the worst set of circumstances you will have ever read on here, but just feel like I could do with a bit of a break this week (and not the car/bike/wife kind of break!). So console me hive mind- how bad can my week get before I can go back to bed and pretend it’s not happening??

That sounds tough. Bad luck. But you're all okay. Things could be a LOT worse.
Apart from Granny. Obviously. I'm sorry for your loss.
I hope you find a decent replacement. For your car.
I know it's annoying, but:
- you walked away unhurt from a serious car crash;
- your car is insured;
- you have access to a work vehicle; and
- your wife is OK despite a potentially serious fall.
There's your daily dose of gratitude for how well things are going, right there ^^^
Hope things improve though. 🙂

I have been amazed how calm and relaxed insurance co and my boss are- I guess it’s their day job to deal with screw ups from the likes of me!

I've managed to have both one of the best and one of the worst weeks of my life at the same time this week (in different parts of my life)
