Wow that is odd...is that a chain tensioner? in a tattoo? tis a bit like that girl with the fixie tattooed on her chest with a front brake.

Virtually all of those tats are totally crap. It's bizarre. If you're getting something that you'll take to your grave surely you'll want something that a)means a lot to you and b)is as high quality as you can afford.

The simpler ones look much better IMO, and Mark singletrack tat shows an awful lot of commitment.

Gruesome.

I reckon the OP pic must have been going for that cyborg look but failed miserably.

The spiderman piece has been copied quite a few times - the quality of the artwork is amazing, but not for me!

as someone up there ^ said, simple is often better. Some of those are, frankly not very well executed.

I had this done years ago, but somehow doesn't seem so appropriate now I'm 60. And I have a Trek now!

Love the spiderman one.

You can get white ink, it's used for shading and subtle stuff. You can get UV ink that just shows under blacklite as well. The wheeled fist design came from a site I found five or six years ago, some sort of cycle action group in Chicago. The logo is available on patches and buttons from http://urbanvelo.org/
the one on the forearm is bikeopeli, the mountain biking relative of kokopeli, an Anasazi Indian joker spirit.

Always baffles me why people who don't like tattoo's always seems to come out with this staement; How good does any part of you look when your old and fat?

If you live to see old age and are dealing with the ailments it brings are you going to be that concerned about a tattoo you had in your youth?

I only don't like 99% of those I've ever seen - I'm sure there must be some really good ones too. Somewhere.

Sadly a lot of the biking ones have been done by artists with no knowledge of bikes 🙁

How good does any part of you look when your old and fat?

age does not necessarily entail fat

I don't suppose Mike Sinyard will mind. I have bought too many bikes of his over the years for him to be worried about my faded tattoo! Great bikes but he doesn't seem to have got it right in geometries for us little 'uns the last couple of years - hence the Trek WSD. No more tattoos for me though!

With reference to the Steve O picture - the one on the top right of his back that looks like a set of bars or something - I assume that is to cover up the mad u****'s tattoo that he had done when riding in the back of a Humvee being driven off-road by that rock musician (whose name I forget).
