Acquired some on-one 29er wheels which need bearing service and not sure what they were called ?

the rims just have on-one logos and the hubs look like Chris King but have on-one logos

rear has the angry bees living in it, front doesn’t

any ideas ?

Thanks

Can you get some photos up? I'd be very surprised if the hubs are Kings

Front won’t have a free hub in it which is why it doesn’t sound like angry bees…

I'm not sure that knowing what the wheels are is going to help you much especially considering they are going to be re-branded catalogue hubs, just pull the bearings out, have a look and confirm with measurements what the bearings are.

Yes but if I need any spares in the future I’d like to know what name they went by

They are almost certainly rebranded Chosen hubs

https://chosenhubs.imb2b.com/

They are not the easiest to get spares for especially older models, if the bearings are dead I'd be tempted to replace the hub with something better supported if the funds allow, otherwise you could spend all that money on bearings but still be left with a dead hub in the near future due to lack of spares.

What K said.

There is little to zero chance that the insides of the rear hub will resemble in any way a Chris King. It's going to have a standard pawl and ratchet arrangement.

You should be able to read the codes on most of the bearings without pulling them.

With those catalogue jobs, ride it until it dies then replace. You'll bust your balls trying to find spares for something that age.

Not an opinion, just advice.

You said that you need a bearing service, so we're trying to help you out there. It's a far less painful exercise than trying to find the exact product codes for some more than likely discontinued catalogue hubs.

Best bet is to pop the bearings out (assuming they're sealed bearings and not loose) and go to a bearing shop. They should be able to measure and sort you out with new ones for pence. Done that loads of times...

They probably didn't have a specific name. They are just whatever On-One were putting on their bikes at the time.

What spares do you think you might need?

They are just generic, catalogue wheels.

Although after taking them out, you should find the bearing number printed on the shield.

Dont buy bearings that cost in the 'pence' 😉 expect to pay about a fiver each.

Well you posted this:

rear has the angry bees living in it, front doesn’t

which sort of implies that you think it might be relevant info you’re passing on to help determine which hub it is. It isn’t.

Unless it was a joke in which case “ha ha ha, good one 👍”
