Me - stream Spotify in the evenings, surf a bit
Missus - downloads the odd movie for the telly
Kids - who knows basically but involves Minecraft, Youtube, movies and Skypeing mates

Our average home internet stats are 160GB per month!
Thankfully unlimited and unthrottled

Beat that!!

We used 700Gb in 3 months according to the last report they sent through.

I'm quite pleased we don't have a capped connection too!

No idea.

I'm on Sky's "Unlimited" ADSL package, so when you go to their usage stats web page it says "congratulations, you have unlimited Internet and don't need to know what your usage is!" Which is fine and dandy but makes it tricky when evaluating alternative offers. Which, I guess, might be why they do it.

I expect it's quite high just because of the Xbox. A couple of demos and free games would set me back 10Gb, and when I go to the Xbox One that'll go up considerably.

Oh yeah, and I forgot about the Sky catchup stuff.

No idea probably trillions of yottabytes

We used to be on a 40 GB deal but that was toast. Two teenagers can easily download the latest version of the Internet before breakfast

My first Modem would have taken five and a half years running 24 hours/day to download what we now casually access in a month.

Was it really only 20 odd years ago?

we get a letter from Virgin every 3 months showing how little we use the phone for the £17/month they charge.

It also includes some stats on data usage.

Some modem/routers will also show usage figures but the virgin superhub is pretty inaccurate.

[edit] Cougar - it was modem, not an acoustic coupler - 9600 baud 😉

We were still using 1200 baud at work for TTY access to customer systems!

I hate to think - the ESO and Destiny downloads would have been 30GB alone last week

87GB for the last full month, which is rather more than I expected given we don't stream that much - I guess I downloaded a few distros. 34GB and 58GB for the previous 2 months, and 46GB so far this month - according to the breakdown 20GB of that is streaming.

We've got 2 teenagers, we're on a 250gig package from plusnet.
All the usual streaming services, Netflix, spotify, Xbox live, YouTube hammered every day.
Got an email telling me we had used 80% of it about a week before month end in July and August. This is with them being out of the country for 11 days and in August.
Hoping now they are back at school it will reduce a little.
But it's only £1 a month more for a the unlimited package which is where I see it heading.

According to virgin statement, 1590gb over three months - three online gamers as kids, me on Netflix and downloading movies etc and some work stuff. I think virgin on demand also uses data. I hope! Gulp

Ours varies enormously. It hovers around 150Gb. 1.4Tb is a personal best.

Virgin cable + NAS + RSS feed of torrents + YouTube (1080p) = pushed 1.5TB before.

1020gb in three months, I'm glad to see there are others that use more, but again 2 teenagers & heavy Virgin catchup use from the wife + me constantly streaming news channels on the PC.

it was modem, not an acoustic coupler - 9600 baud

No-one can possibly live at that speed!

My first foray into the Intertubes was a PR1ME minicomputer, the terminal on that talked to the terminal at 4800 baud. I remember the day we worked out how to hack it up to 9600, practically left scorch marks on the desk.
