You know, the one you throw down quickly after returning from work, the beer you don't savour you just knock it back for refreshment because its cold and within easy reach...

I quite like Heineken for this - bottles only as its crisp and cleaner - yours?

Cold Ale for me - though not every day. But it just so happens that tonight I fancied a cheeky snifter and am tucking into a St Austell's Proper Job IPA. Crisp, refreshing, hoppy-tang with plenty of flavour (unlike that nasty cat-Pee lager crap!).

I drink bitter at the pub. On hot days if I've got a sweat on, I might slake the first thirst with a pint of Robinsons cider.

At home, the only beer I keep in the fridge are cans of a light session IPA: Dead Pony Club by Brewdog.

I'm beginning to get the impressing I've let my bank balance rule my lifestyle with beer comprimise rather than the other way around...

No alcohol at home these days, so favoured beer is Goodens Gold and supped and savoured.

Whatever's £1 a bottle at Morrisons.
Last week it was Brakspear Oxford Gold, tonight it's Hobgoblin Gold.

To drink first thing when I get home from work? Ribena, pint, 2 ice cubes.

2hours later? As a beery thirst quencher that'll keep me from downing something 'nice'? - Whatever was on offer in the co-op.

Tonight it's San Miguel, but I prefer becks.

Canopy Milkwood amber ale, kernel table beer or whatever is in the fridge. Right now I'm drinking Hitachino Nest Yuzu Saison du Japon which is very nice.
I don't do 'glugging' though as I'm not a pisshead, quality not quantity every time.

Amstel or San Miguel. Mythos if they are selling it anywhere.
Usually drink Ales. Not a massive drinker these days but do enjoy a cold one after work if I'm off the next day.

Banks's bitter. Only 89p a bottle at Aldi and very glugable.

Corona. I'm an ale drinker but an ice cold Corona can, and does, disappear very quickly.

having lived 4 years in Holland...
crikey at the thought of Heineken being a beer of choice
double crikey in the case of Grolsch

usually some kind of weissbier for me
(edit: but one of the local microbrewery ones here gives me wind for 3 days)

Always an ice cold Beck's Blue in the fridge for when I get in. Awesome on weekend mornings when doing stuff in the garden, cleaning the car, cooking on the braai and want to stay focussed. Henry Weston's Vintage cider for relaxing.

But I try not to glug any more. Rather just have one beer that is very nice but sometimes that doesn't happen

Amstel at the moment, it's weird after years of being a real ale drinker a couple of months ago I became a lager lout 😕

And at the moment is literal, this one isn't touching the sides!

Heineken or Peroni right now. Although the local brewery has a Kolsch which is good for glugging too.

Erm, whisper it quietly, but that new lager that Guinness is doing is quite nice as an in-from-work-on-a-hot-day beer. It's verging on a blonde ale tbh. Worth a try, even for the Guinness-ruined-beer haterz. 🙂

Just as an aside, I ended up in a pub recently where the only working tap was Carling. FML. Tastes and looks like the result of a nasty bladder infection combined with someone burping in your mouth (I'm guessing). Genuinely vile.

Magners plus ice.

Just got one on the go now after getting in from a 13 hour shift, it's washing down a bacon sarnie for my tea.

Despite earlier comment, if I could find a more regular source, it would be either of these;

[img] [/img]
Siren Half Mast

[img] [/img]
Omnipollo Mazarin

Both are so deliciously subtle in flavour, and gloriously drinkable.

not sure if I've got one. Hogs Back Tea or St Austell Proper Job if you made pick a couple.

Right now I'm on the glugging wine of choice, Lindeman's Bin 65 Chardonnay. Does the job very nicely indeed!

That Siren Half Mast looks v interesting. I do enjoy a pale ale / IPA but they can be a bit punchy for a glugging beer. When I'm working in California Lagunitas IPA is my go-to (and cheap!) beer but it's 6%+. In Australia there's a load of great pale ales, like the Angry Man, that I try to keep to hand.

Corroded, it's 2.8% of awesome! I believe it's still available in M&S, so that may be worth a look.

I'm liking Lidl No2 Green Gecko IPA. It's really not bad at all.

I brew my own too, but it's never in the fridge.

That Caesar Augustus is a very nice choice.

I've just had one of these, thanks to a fellow STWer.

That Straffe Hendrik is lovely

The Jarl I didn't like at all

I've usually got a few san miguel in the fridge. cheap.

Otherwise Bradfield's Yorkshire Farmer or Great Newsome's Maillot Jaune.

After this mornings round of news, I'm getting straight back on it, as of now 😥

Mrs K brought back some Lidl Permachanachnaacha something of other Pils last night, 89p for 500ml, wasn't too bad in fact.

Whatever lager is discounted at coop in the warmer months for a start, then the real ale after the thirst is quenched.
