+1

Since most of the folk I ride with are +10 years younger than me, I'm certainly fitter than most (the majority) of my age.

Strikes me as not being very accurate ๐Ÿ™‚ >20 vs 48. My estimated VO2 was 73 which is ludicrous really. I am pretty sure when I last tried a couple of years ago using one of the training bikes in the gym my VO2 was estimated at around 48. And not feeling very fit at the moment either....

Your VO2MAX is calculated to be 62
and your estimated "fitness age" is younger than 20[/b]

I need to start humping ... ๐Ÿ˜†

Younger than 20 apparently, with a VO2 max of 70 (WTF do you do with that figure then?) All of which is odd given I'm almost 45.

I am guessing the thing is based on the results of this:

The Nord-Trรธndelag Health Study (HUNT) is one of the world's largest population studies with data from three health surveys; HUNT 1 (1984-86), HUNT 2 (1195-97) and HUNT 3 (2006-2008). With a large collection of health data and biological material, HUNT data is used by researchers in many varied fields. At CERG, we have in part used HUNT data to study the relationship between physical activity and cardiovascular disease, for example looking at VO2max as a predictor of future health.

Over 200,000 participants so a pretty big sample. It would appear that the age is based on an average person so a fitness age of 20 or whatever is not a massive deal considering most people do no exercise.

VO2 max estimates are based on this: http://www.ntnu.edu/cerg/fitness-numbers

Not total Bollocks, it just that showing mean figures will always throw up outliers that make the predictions look a bit stupid. Like bodybuilders and BMI.

It's bobbins. It reckons that my fitness age is 13 less than my real age which is cobblers seeing as I do very little and get knackered climbing the stairs!
