I love my Leica parallel plate micrometer when put onto my Leica NA2 optical level.

0.1mm accuracy with the Invar staff, now that's proper engineering levelling stuff.

Cock on.

My work is one big toy.

I have an A1 plotter I print plans etc. out on for hydro schemes.

I go offroading in my 4x4 up the Highlands.

I get to open big valves and tinker with massive forces of nature.

I may have no pictures but I know I win this thread!

Film or paper?

Ahh, just wondered. I maintain the machinery that makes film for photographic applications amongst other things. They dwarf any printer ๐Ÿ˜†

We've got a set of these.

It's kind of cool being able to lift an 8 tonne bus up in the air so you can walk underneath it.

I remember donkeys years ago getting to play with Roland large format pen plotters when they were first around. We used to marvel at the way the so-called optimisation resulted in a seemingly random series of pen movements.

Sadly I don't get to play with anything particularly exciting these days. What impressed me most were the Zeiss glass plate camera and stereo comparators I used for photogrammetry as a student.
