There are some great user names out there - Mastilies Fannilon is my personal favourite.

But what does your user name mean or how the heck did you come up with it? Some are pretty obvious, like TJ and Ton, but 'This is not a spoon'? It's bordering on Lewis Carol levels of sanity.

So come one, tell all. Mine's really simple. My best mate always called me Gee (way before the Atherton's were around!) as my initials are GT and I was born in 1972, hence GeeTee1972.

I think the Fannylions are/were a group of riders...

I wonder why people see any need to hide behind a pseudonym?

That's right, it was Trevor.

It's my nickname in real life.. short for youngster.. cos I'm the oldest Dave in our group of mates.. (by some way)..

Also it rhymes with junky and has a sort of pun based on the scandinavian pronounciation of the letter J. This is mildly amusing to my mates as I used to have an obscenely gluttonous drug habit.

Well, my name is Julian and my surname begings with A... Not too imaginative!

I did get an offer to go ride with some ladies though, which was nice... (Didn't take them up on it though!)

I think that thisisnotaspoon is a reference to Magritte's 'Ceci n'est pas une pipe'...

One of my favourite user names on here is anagallis_arvensis - the scientific name of the flower better known as Scarlet Pimpernel.

Oh, and talkemada must have been a reference to a certain Spanish Inquisitor, but I'm not going to get into a discussion about that particular user!

Why not? What does it matter? It's a bit of fun, is all.
Anyhoo, mine's a character from a book by one of my favourite authors, William Gibson. I would have chosen Chevette, a bike courier from a book of his called Virtual Light, but she's female, and I ain't, so I chose Count Zero from his book of the same name.

N.A.Palmer (Andy Palmer), credited as pseudonym B.A.Nana on some albums. It's was a teenage thing, so might be my mid life crisis name?. Certainly not anything suggesting that I'm a joker and a cad, I'm actually a morose bstrd.

A nickname my mates call me. Supposed to be 'Cato' after the crazy manservant in the Pink Panther films, but somewhere down the line over many years it's been misspelt as Kato and stuck

Mc pronounced em cee is the prefix to my surname. At a Grundig World Cup race in the 80's the Italian race announcer listed those with the above prefix em cee Laren, em cee Leod, em cee Intosh. It was around the time MC Hammer. At the time we also produced a bike magazine called Moont.

It relates to an old photo in my first snowboarding outfit with big white boots and crash helmet. The GF said I looked like Buzz Lightyear. It's become a nick-name. BTW I look nothing like Buzz Lightyear as those who have met me can testify.

a nickname given to me by my mate Drunken Duncan when we were training & ordering food at the pub. I always had a bacon sandwich & asked for the bacon to be crispy.

My alternative was going to be 'Ellsie' which is both my initials & also an anagram of my first name. 😆

Our kid used to call me Bin Lid at school (manchester rhyming slang for our kid). Then gradually everyone started calling me it. At some point it was appropriatted to Binners

I went through a brief spell of Bin Laden when he was a little known Islamic trouble-maker. People stopped calling me that fairly abruptly on September the 11th 2001. Cant think why

Because we're not all literal-minded engineers.

I'm from Dorset, and I'm a knob.

I don't know about the underscore though. Why would anyone put an underscore in their name, FFS?
