watched it a few years back.. all i can remember is a table. where someone who had died was able to scratch messages onto it in the past, and communicate with someone in the future?
also remember someone dying in a fire, or was a fireman?
the main character can predict when someone will die and therefore can prevent it from happening, eventually the bloke in question is brought back to life?
any ideas?

Frequency - good film. He used a soldering iron to burn the table to communicate between times.
frequency was a good film - which given the description - dead guy communicates with his son in the future via CB radio and soldering iron - was a surpise
unlike that outlander. should have been the greatest film ever - vikings - tick, aliens - tick, lasers- tick - unfortunately a bit crap really.
