MegaSack DRAW - 6pm Christmas Eve - LIVE on our YouTube Channel
A potential position may be available in the Kincardine area of Scotland within my company. Would love to consider this but i have no idea of the local area there or where is good to live or not, or even if its a poo hole of a place.
I am a former native of scotland but moved to england as a toddler so only have holiday experience of areas like Fort William, Roybridge etc and city breaks in Glasgow. Would like to live somewhere more rural and this "could" be a possibility.
Any local info folks, thanks.
You can easily get rural if you go out from Kincardine (as little as 5 miles from Kincardine) yet within 30 minutes you could be in Glasgow or Edinburgh.Stirling is only 15 minutes drive.
I don't know the town itself but it looks rather uninspiring. However it is well served by the road network so there is plenty of choice of places to live nearby
Positives - Nice period houses if that's your kind of thing. House prices are pretty low at the moment and you get a lot for your money. Good transport links, although no train station. Close to the Ochils. Central location for the whole of Scotland.
Negatives - House prices are lower than elsewhere for a reason. Not a lot to do at night. Local kids don't have much to do.
I looked at living in Kincardine for a while, but chose Dunfermline as it has a lot more going for it.
Thanks for the info. Kincardine is the nearest location to the potential post, but i will be looking to ideally live in a more rural area nearby say 30-45 mins away as it would be a pointless move to stay in a town in my opinion.
Plenty of choice of nice places to live with half an hours drive of Kincardine
