Saw Ian Stannard out training today. Going steady (for him, super fast for us mere mortals) with mudguards and national champions jersey on. I was farting about avoiding writing a report, doing the jobs on the house I was supposed to, or even getting out on the bike for a couple of hours as I could have done.

I went out, hill climb intervals. I died.

Then once resuscitated (cough) I went to get two watch batteries changed, £130.00.

Matt feel your boredom. Off nearly all of last week with a chest infection and no riding for another week.with this cough. Daytime tv sucks.

Learning piano when I should have been looking for a new job.

Doing sudoku when I should have been doing my actual job.

Lying here, wide awake, listening to my dad doing an impression of the 40-A-Day Terminal Sea Lion Chorus performing a skat jazz version of William Tell Overture inside a giant, phlegmy, vuvuzela. I should be asleep. He's had this cough for about 8 days and still refuses to go see the doctor.

Today I will be mostly trying to find a card at the local supermarket that expresses my love for my wife. Just for a laugh, I may limit my searching to the "Value" aisle to see if she notices.

Was meant to be taking my lad for his first Off Road bike ride. However, the snow means that we will be making paper aeroplanes instead. 😕

I'm looking out of the window and wondering how deep the snow is going to be for Hit the North on Saturday. Might well change the tyres on the hardtail this evening. Might go out for a play afterwards

A 50 miler on the Roadie this morning, not long back, ave speeds up, climbings up, breathing getting better every day.

I have nothing more to do today except wait for a replacement set of Prawl Springs for my Hope rear hub I'm servicing.

I'm now sitting drinking tea and watching "Last of the Summer Wine", classic.
