Mashed potato with some soured cream or crème fraîche through it,

Chips and spaghetti hoops.

Couscous and a bit of salad.

Beer.

Plywood.

Brown rice and fry some peppers with the courgette too.

accompaniment depends on the size of the cakes, the type of fish, and the amount of potato in them

But you seemed to have slipped up and made your fish into cakes, instead of it being battered and deep fried. Why you'd do that I have no idea. And you've inadvertently ended up in possession of a courgette, rather than mushy peas

No you don't. That's meat and two veg. You don't need a potatoey component cos there's usually more potato than fish in a fishcake.

I doubt they've ever seen a potato 😀

We always have mash, veg and holandaise with ours but when you think about it having mash with a fishcake is a bit weird. "Would you like your mash with a side of mash sir?"
