How about a service vessel for their super-yacht to allow their staff and guests to self isolate in luxury...
Poor pets, must be hard for them. Actually it's stories like this that really test my own thinking on capitalism and the free market. On one hand I don't begrudge many people and if someone has managed to either game the system or develop and grow a company to such a size that they can afford such things then fair play to them. As a rule I think capitalism is about the best of a bunch of broken systems.
On the other it does neatly highlight the massive wealth disparity which at this level seems grossly unfair when there are entire nations that could be comfortably clothed and fed for the same cost as some of these toys the uber rich can afford.
Better they spend it or invest in new high growth business than let it sit in the bank or in low risk investments.

A script that can edit the web address too so that any spelling error is completely covered?
I don’t understand why it has to be a catamaran?
I've been on a few and know people who have worked on them including one running everything other than the steering and engineering crap (she passed on the owners plans to the bloke who did organise the steering). They all said it was like working in a small luxury hotel in assorted great locations.
Add in the boat generating work for a lot of people and i find it hard to get too angry about it. The trouble is they are so high profile that everyone can see them because that is what they are meant to do.
If you want to talk about the problems of the poor and the wealthy ignoring them then lead by example, downsize your house, get rid of the car that exceeds the UK speed limit by a stupid amount and redistribute your wealth.
And if you have reasons why not then try to see where they differ from the wealthy.
If I had money then a cashsoak like a luxury yacht would be way down my list of purchases.
Remember: If it flies, floats or ****s then rent it.

Because you only need so much to lead a reasonable quality of life. Yes me and the Mrs do ok and there are plenty who are far worse off but the money we spend on a sensible car won't pay for the food and clothing of an entire nation and nor will we ever have more than enough to lead a moderate lifestyle in a Western country.
The uber uber rich have wealth so far out of kilter with anything even remotely resembling normality - and by this I mean the likes of Bezos are so far out of reach of even multi-millionaires - that to suggest there is any connection or comparison between me giving up my car and them giving up *one* of their $600m yachts is I think a bit wide of the mark.
As I say I actually don't begrudge many people their wealth and particularly not the like sof Buffet, Gates, Bezos, Musk etc. They have built companies up and worked the capitalist system just perfectly. It is whether the fact they have been able to do so is indicative of a very broken system or not.
Multi-millionaires and billionaires are generally smart people and if they buy things like these they put them to work and they end up earning for them. They're not just sat there gathering dust and costing them money. Same with private jets. As Eddie says, There is a whole industry around these things that employs tens of thousands of people globally in highly paid jobs. I've seen it from the private jet side and was offered a job once to manage the maintenance on a private jet for silly money. I was very tempted - probably would have set me up for life, but it meant 5 - 10 years living in Doha. No thank you. I was to mange one jet in a fleet of about ten jets and a broader team of a couple of hundred staff, including mechanics, engineers, commercial people, lawyers, financiers, logistics and supply chain people, security people etc. So big money and a big industry.
Maybe there is hope.
Bezo's ex has decided to give away $30 billion and he is starting to do do similar.
It is catching on amongst some of the Uber rich. And I don't mean cab drivers.

Support vessel for the super-rich has been around for a few years so nothing exactly new.
I’d love a boat but no matter how rich I was I don’t think I’d want one of these big yachts. I’d rather have something I could drive myself. To me it would be a bit like having a Lamborghini and then hiring a chauffeur!!
I worked for a charity a few years ago, I met some poor people who viewed me as super rich.
Just remember, we're all in this together.
🙂
