in all fairness itv player will use around 1gb an hour (probably less) so its its on 1 system it wont use 14 unless your watching it for 14hours..
ps3 will use about 300mb an hour at most id guess unless he is downloading demos or streaming stuff
whos it with? and was it just for that day? have you thought about system updates like automatic microsoft or osx?

A 1 hr programme on BBC iplayer is apparently approx 600MB (only if you download to watch in case of slow connection) so if you are limited to 1GB of downloads, you do the maths!
14GB is a lot, certainly not accounted for just playing online games and watching a bit of streamed TV. As others have said though downloading PS3 demos can take a chunk (they seem to mostly be under 1GB each though), downloading HD content could add a fair amount to depending on duration.

Id say the average home allowance with kids and parents using the net should be between 50-100gb now, my mums 60 and she uses 30gb a month! haha

On my Xbox, I can download demos that can be a couple of Gb in size. If your lad's doing something similar on the PS3 that might account for it.
TBH though, for that volume of data my money would be on bittorrent traffic, either your lad downloading entire series of TV shows / movie rips / pron, or someone else leeching your bandwidth and doing the same.
are you using a wireless router? are you sure your neighbours aren't using it as well?
Set up the router to use openDNS, then you can check what's been used everyday, plus stop people looking at stuff they shouldn't.
(Or set up each pc to use openDNS, but you need to make the admin user secure.)
in a word, everything, even going on here will mount up to your limit. General surfing, especially on graphic/flash heavy sites will count to that - worked for Sky up until a week ago and the amount of people that did not get that at all.

14GB is a lot of porn, could be bit torrents of games and films. He is much more likely for be getting his porn via tube sites that don't require a download.

yeah could do, my housemate annoys the hell out of me "I was just streaming it not downloading it" yeah... still reads the same frikkin file which still uses data!
14gb is loads tho but not out of the ordinary, it was sunday!
my housemate used to do that, then he got a wireless sending thingy so he could watch the sky box from his room. Which just blocked the wireless signal!

A website where you can download music/films etc but by downloading the file, it means that other people can subsequently download it from your machine (unless the user knows to move the file or change sharing permissions).
Widely used for music and porn.

Oldgit, fear not.
It is likely to be video content, or CBBC or flash based games, or any online games for that matter, anything where data is coming to your pc specifically upon request. You are not measured on downloads, just how much data flows through your gateway.
I had this problem as soon as my son found cBeeBies, and at 4 1/2 I doubt porn is a cause in my household.
If in doubt, your ISP should be able to give you a detailed report upon what caused the data usage.

Agreed - I was just explaining what it was but can see why it could be interpreted that I meant it would be classed as download.
Of course if he is downloading from someone else, it is still counted as download.
