Any recommendations please?
Washington: Clementine EP.
Bon Iver: For Emma Forever ago, or Woods (slightly more "out there")
Board of Canada: Anything really.
Wilco : Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
Traveling Band : Under the Pavement.
Grizzly Bear's latest, Veckatimest, is quite nice.
The Acorn. Saw them supporting Elbow recently, and they were excellent. Canadian, rather than American, with similar harmonies. And hair and idiosyncratic dress sense!
Also School of Seven Bells. Two sisters with one bloke, again, lovely harmonies and great melodies, with a faintly dance vibe to it. There's loads of really lovely stuff out there, just takes a bit of hunting down. If you don't already get it, check out The Word magazine, their reviews are excellent, and the cd of sample tracks from review albums are a great source of iPod material.

Dark Was The Night - 2 cd compilation with lots of very good stuff on it; Grizzly Bear, Iron and Wine, Feist, Bon Iver...
Department of Eagles are related to Grizzly Bear and very good.
There's a lot of choose from at the moment.
Bonnie Prince Billy - he's done a lot, but my favourite is probably The Letting Go (although the new one 'Beware' is also very good).
Califone
M Ward (Transfiguration of Vincent)
Ellis Island Sound (instrumental, but very lovely)
Espers
Jolie Holland
Midlake
Sufjan Stevens
Vetiver
