Windmills; coming from the right direction in the right weather, Rooley Moor Rd wending its way up the hillside.

As a truck driver from the Wiltshire/Somerset border the M4 J18 slip road or the Stones are my markers that after a week or so away I'm only an hour from home. Although on a Friday I could be staring at the Stones for over an hour whilst I wait for the Grockles to sort themselves out

Leamington spa penis tree...

[img] [/img]

Edit: posted this before looking through the thread and seeing that Mrs Toast had posted it earlier..
*waves at neighbour*
Yes, Leamington penis tree is a legend, but never actually taken a photo of it myself...
The Sikh temple can now be seen behind the penis tree on a bright day too.

Those balloons could be going anywhere tho

Of course they could, but Clifton Suspension Bridge is hardly going to rip free from its moorings and float off for some undisclosed destination, is it? 🙄

For a long time, Charborough Tower heaving into view meant I was nearly home.

seadog not the flipping huge chateau?

In how do you know your home bingo I've used four of the landmarks in this thread have told me I'm home over the years. None of them have been boobs or comedy trees.

Brooess - Crystal Palace TV towers

Ah, that reminded me of somewhere I loved going:

My grandad lived behind the towers on Wells Park Road in that building which was council flats at the time. It's an old railway station (can't quite remember the name, think it may have been Upper Sydenham). There was a tunnel entrance right next to the building, fenced up, and every evening hundreds and hundreds of bats would fly out in the Sydenham sunset. I used to wonder if they picked up the TV from the towers as bats had radar and everything...

From about 20miles in any direction we see the these hills. This is when the kids stop asking 'are we nearly there yet?'

(Not my photo)

Charborough wall means I'm very close to home

[img] [/img]

Means I'm getting close to where I was born, and family used to live the place, as soon as I get here I seem to unwind and relax.

Luke. That wall has always amazed me. You can say to anyone who has driven down that way, have you seen the long wall and they will know what you are talking about.
I think the local Lord had it built to give people work in the 30s.

Zippykona the wall was built around 1840 according to wiki
I would ask my old man as he used to work on the estate and my grandad lived in side the wall for years but he's away on holiday at the moment
