Pop It under the mattress, that way it hasn't got far to go when it wakes up and wants to crawl into your ear while your sleeping.

Last thread i really remember of the 'What is it?' type led on to become the legend of Magnetodog.

Could be one of these Starnut palm although it looks a bit larger than the ones on that page. That said, there are several dozen species, so some bound to be bigger than others.
