Just read a load of twaddle by someone who calls themselves a writer and philosopher? Who bestows that title on him and WTF does it mean?

I assume you weren't impressed with the writer on account of their ineptitude?
Imagine someone (for instance) liking bikes, can fit a pair of bar-grips or split a chain - so erroneously/vainly presents self as cyclist and 'bike guru'.
ie self-titled, yet untrained in any vocational or academic discipline.
For definition of 'philosopher' - giyf!
