mpv or estate

less than 40000miles
quite sporty looking

was all set on a touran but wanted to see what others could recommend before i jump in and go for one.!!

quite like the new mondeo and the mazda 6 but the dpf filter rubbish puts me off!!!

what are the petrol models like on these??

A nice diesel V70 or Mondeo would be my tip on that budget.

You could get a nice D5 at that money, I reckon.

OK, neither are "sporty looking", but both are awesome big cars with big boots.

Or, what about a classic?

Renton, get a (boring, cheap and meaningless) personal plate, and she'll never know! 🙂

A6 boot is nowhere near that of a V70 or Mondeo. Shape is all wrong.

S-max tdci

Great car, dont own one but mate has one and i have driven it a few times.

We need something a tad bigger hence our Kia Sedona. If it want for that then it would be top of the list.

SMax is good but depending on bike sizes, quantity and how you pack them, the height isn't ideal...width and length is braw but height is short if you don't want to remove wheels and seats from anything larger than 18" to store upright. Other than that, ours has been superb.

Indeed. The answer is: Ford Galaxy. Had ours nearly two years now (2.0 TDCi) and it's superb, does all the family stuff and with the seats down has van-like bike carrying ability.

We've got a Seat Altea XL. Might not be quite big enough for you, but its a bit different and very pratical.

We've a Nissan Qashqai, Its been a great car. You could easily pick up a sub 40k for less than 10grand. If want a really big boot you could go for the longer +2 version.
