[Closed] What does "backfill" a job position mean?

Usually when you lose an employee and replace them straightaway. That's certainly what we mean in my workplace.

You're keeping the same headcount by replacement of a resource who has moved on.

If someone is long term sick you get someone else to back fill that position, could be a contractor or an existing head.

Business speak for 'you better bend over and relax, 'cos you're about to get right royally buggered'
