There's not many Star Bars kicking about nowdays, although certainly fortunately more here in Scotland than there seems down south

I would imagine most are still available. Quite the boom in retro sweets.

Also, how the **** was the OP unaware Curly Wurlys are still sold?

...even posh shops like Ocado sell them.

Wonka bars. I worked for Nestle Rowntree in the late 90s/early 2000s and they did these things. Wasn't chocolate but a kind of purple sweet 'bar'. They stopped making them soon after they were released but they were actually pretty nice!

Although not that size of bar, they used to do a smaller single finger golden cup without any divisions in it, so it was gooey caramel from one end to the other. That or ice breaker bar.

Pretty sure supermarkets still sell Wonka bars, as does One Stop.

Don't think I crave for any retro sweets other than Pink Panther bars. Found a local sweetshop recently that still has hundreds of things I mostly forgot about - Flying saucers, coconut tobacco, refreshers, blackjacks, rainbow drops etc etc

But would swap a bike for a bag of onion 'Fangs' (Horror Bags) - not confectionery, I know, but ye gods have tried every onion flavoured snack on the shelf over the years and nothing, NOTHING compares.

Would they be the same ones as sold by Amazon?

Not entirely sure I want to try them...

invented by the grandfather of one of my ex-girlfriends.

My grandad invented a famous confection too. When he was little, my dad got a peanut stuck in his ear. So my grandad poured melted chocolate in to loosen it, and it came out a Treat.

Texan. End of chat!

And pacers.

Anyone remember a chew bar from the early 80's - black on one side and green on the other. Seem to remember it was called Zegazoid or something similar. As reknowned for removing waggling baby teeth and fillings as Highland Toffee (gotta be chocalote covered!).

drac..

My gran used to work at the castleford factory back in the late 60's/70's so christmas from her was always a shoe box full of random misshapes sold to the staff for cheap..

one christmas I got a texan bar, well, I say A texan bar, it was about 9 or ten that had all stuck together before the chocolate was applied - this thing was about twice the diameter of my 6-10 year old arm - I still get misty eyed at the thought of it.

Texan bars - anyone remember when they brought them back about 10 years ago? After this came out:

http://www.prnewswire.co.uk/news-releases/its-official-texan-is-britains-favourite-chocolate-bar-ever-154179795.html

I bought a pack of 3 and they were no way as good as I remembered, pretty unappealing actually so maybe good for kids only. So I now say those big Wham bars were the best.

Everyone of a certain age will say Texan bars.

When I was a child that was my weekly treat. A texan bar to eat while watching The Muppets.

Glees. Chewy fruity things that were in a purple packet and possibly a little like the Skittles are nowadays. I think they were made by Mars.

Cadbury's Spira. Used to love them - I know it's just another form of Cadbury's chocolate, but somehow they tasted different - maybe it's the increased percentage of "surface chocolate" or something 😕

Splicers? No one seems to remember them!

In London there is a museum of packaging and it has all the old sweets that this guy collected.

Has Quattro can, top deck and funny feet yoghurts.

It's a really good visit

Another vote for Pacers here too. Must admit that modern versions of the old classics, just aren't the same, like rock hard fruit pastilles, that questioned the strength of your teeth with everyone you chewed and fruit gums that stuck forever in the roof of your mouth. Can you still get space dust?
