Hi I'm going on holiday tomorrow and just wondering if people have any good books reccomendations.

I mainly like non fiction along the lines of Long way around, various bike books such as wiggins, cav, the hour, etc etc and Tony Hawkes (not the skater) something with a little humour.

So what you been reading and what did you think about it?

The Philisopher And The Wolf, by Mark Rowlands, is rather good value (although probably quite annoying if you are a serious student of philosophy).

I assume you've tried French Revolutions?

Also good are the following; Bill Bryson, Simon Winchester, Peter Hopkirk.

this is not even slightly close to being in the vein you describe, but is the best book i have recently read and therefore worth reading. 🙂

read Fallen Angel: The Passion of Fausto Coppi by William Fotheringham on holiday. Great book, even my wife enjoyed it and she's not that crazy about cycling.

I just finished the latest Stuart Maconie which was pretty good in a sub Bill Bryson way. Plenty of laughs and a quick read.

I'm off on holiday tomorrow as well.

I'm taking 'The man who cycled the World' by Mark Beaumont. Could be your cup of tea if you like stuff like Long way round.

Lucky Jim - Kingsley Amis made me smile. I also quite liked Deliverance.

The Grass Arena Joe Healey is a pretty amazing true story of someone dragging himself out of the gutter.
