Must be nice to drink as well as making good batter for, more often than not, scampi.
Current favourites are hobgoblin and black sheep.

Either of those would be good of it's drinking too or just use soda water so you have more beer.

Beer battered fish locally often uses Wadworth's 6X, but any quality ale ought to do.
