I'm having fresh minestrone soup from the cafe pod at work and and a cheese and tomato sandwich that I made myself. I will finish with a satsuma and then a coffee.

I cycled to work for the first time this year today as part of my "get fitter" plan. 19.6 miles.... Phew....

Yesterday was fasting day on the 5-2

So lunch was a lovely New Yorker thing, lovely bread, ham, chicken, salad and mustard... cheese... all toasted...
followed by a super duper chocolate muffin !

Last of Sundays roast pork in a sandwich with the last of the coleslaw, enlivened with some tomato and chilli relish.

Packet of Worcestershire Sauce crisps left in the multipack that no one else can stomach. And I struggle.

Finished with the last of the rhubarb crumble. With cream.

Washed down with the squash left over from this morning's short fast road ride with my mate.

Home-made carrot and spinach soup the other half made with stuff from the fridge that was a bit past it's best.
5-2 day here, so low-calorie. Which is good.
T'was ok after I'd added about a ton of salt. Which isn't.
🙂

It was a toss-up between:

SPICED BEEF with Atjar of cucumber and nasi

PORK TENDERLOIN with Fried broccoli/polenta

REDFISH FILLET WITH MARINATED FENNEL Carrots/pasta

The Spicey beef won out in the end, with Creme Caramel for dessert - all for €3,50.

Sorry for resurrecting - today's lunch box contains peas, sweetcorn (both from frozen), carrot, pepper, grapes, mushrooms and spring onions (all from fresh), some cubes of low-fat mature cheddar, pickled gherkin, a handful of cashews, some pine nuts, a tin of tuna and a spoonful of green pesto, and without wishing to blow my own trumpet, it is simply glorious.

That is all.

Just had a sandwich, crafted by my own fair hand.

Let me take you through the layers
Seeded Bread
Mayo/ wholegrain mustard
Cucumber
Some fancy italian ham
Cheese
More mayo/mustard
Toasted Seeded Bread
More cheese
Some honey roasted ham
Tomato
More mayo/mustard
Seeded Bread

Lovely, should see me through until "second lunch" about 1430.

Well next door to where I'm presently sat, is one of these....

So it'd be rude not to have a cheese and onion pasty at the very least.

For our Southern readers, Sayers is a sort of Northern Waitrose to Greggs Asda, if you will.

Oat and raisin cookie
Go Ahead bar
Hob Nob bar.

I've got my banana for just before 2.30 when it's time to cycle home 20 miles.
