I've tonnes of mp3s on the PC at home, and an ipod (old 8g nano) for biking/sport, but could do with a decent android player for the nexus 4 when in the car...
I hate goole play music thingy...

What are the peeps of STW using nowadays?

(If there's one that's very much like an iphone player, I wouldn't be too proud to use that!)

Cheers

DrP

I've not used it myself but I keep hearing good things about the Sony Walkman app.

Might give it a try now 🙂

I'm a duffer so you can probably change this in settings, but the Sony player that came as std on my Xperia wouldn't play files that had been created in WMA format, I had too many to convert and couldn't be arsed to fiddle about in the walkman app, hence why I got poweramp loaded instead.

Shame you don't like Google Music as it syncs nicely with iTunes.

Not sure what i'm using at the mo but have tried a few. They all seem to suffer the same issue in my experience. Maybe someone can recommend a program that sorts this issue. I have about 4000 songs on my SD card and all I want to do is listen to them completely at random. However, all the programmes seem to have a very limited shuffle function and will work through 3 or 4 albums at a time before moving on to other albums. Drives me nuts.

In true "I'm an STW sheep" fashion, I clicked 'buy' on poweramp before even trying it...

It's rubbish - it just plays carp like Justin Beiber and One Direction. Pah...

DrP

(yolking! It's pretty good actually, and I'm a big fan of 'drag and dropping' music so not fussed about losing itunes connectivity..)

I had it - couldn't get on with it, so went back to poweramp.

DoubleTwist is worth a look, I believe it plays nice with iTunes (don't use iTunes myself so can't confirm), random is properly random and also has a nice podcast directory and automatic download option, which comes in useful for me.

Confronted with the same dilemma, I gave in and became one of the Spotify sheeple. The latest version has gone a bit itunesey, though still rather good.

I like VLC. It's free and plays every type of audio file you can think of.

Poweramp for me too on my old G3 but they don't do it on iPhone so I've had to buy another type/version of an EQ based player.

Bit annoyed actually.
