This morning I saw the first sign of the impending apocolypse.
I went to the Royal Mail to collect a couple of packages that I'd not been at home to sign for. And the lady behind the counter said, ohh you're lucky, we were about to send that one back (one had been waiting well over the 18 days they're supposed to keep it for) but we thought you might come in for the other parcel so we kept it.
Common sense at the Royal Mail, whatever next!

You should report them for failing to follow their own policies, then sue them for emotional distress - that's the British way!
Funny, I was struck by RM's use of common sense today too!
I nipped to the sorting office to collect a parcel that they tried to deliver yesterday.
The bloke asked for ID and I'd forgotten to take any. I was about to walk out chuntering under my breath when he said, "Can you tell me what size the parcel's likely to be and where it was coming from?". He was happy that my answers matched and let me have my parcel 🙂
He also spotted that it would be a tight squeeze to fit in my bag so offered me scissors to cut it open so I could just place the contents inside!
