I have never been a part of an online community in which people can be so honest about what ails them; receive such empathetic responses; be subject to such genuine love.

This is a shout out to everyone on here. Simply for being there for other members.

I’m not that active on here but I’m always around. And I’m proud to be so because this place is full of absolute legends.

Aye, we can pull together at times. We can moan and take the mickey but it's our place.

Not wrong there Eyes.

Many times I've read honest and open posts from STWers going through very tough times.  The responses have always been kind and supportive with genuine offers of help.  Often theses posts will give advice, and direct others to very useful sources of information, guidance and assistance.

Keep it up STWers.

Couldn’t agree more. I stumbled across this place whilst looking for advice on a bike build. Never thought I’d still be hanging around six years later. I’ve had good advice and been shown great kindness through some tough times.

Hats off to everyone for making this place what it is

I coined the notion a few years ago, "STW: you'll come for the bikes, you'll stay for the bollocks."  There are a few posters who will cheerfully have an argument in an empty room but on the whole the place is a goldmine of knowledge and comraderie.

When something goes sideways, like the recent incident which I assume prompted the OP, the community we've grown here will pull together in an incredible fashion.  When a thread turns into three pages of gratuitous moderator-bashing, it's the success stories and the community spirit which keeps me from going "bugger this for a game of soldiers" and flouncing.

So, eh, that was supposed to be more positive than it came out.  Point was, good work guys, I love you all.

Mostly, anyway. (-:

This needs to be on a tee.

On balance this place is excellent.  Here you see the absolute best of human nature in large doses mixed with a tiny bit of shittiness.

I too earlier on was thinking how folk have mellowed nowadays and that I met my first stw for a quick blast the other day. Cheers to Jam bo 🙂

Was a good guide and I tried not to keep him back with my bad breathing technique on the ups.

You should have seen 15 years ago - the people were great.  A lot of them moved on or changed their user name...

Some great support.

Some prats too.  ;P

Is this the “you’re all as mad as a box of frogs but I love you” thread?

Count me in. 😘

Aye, there’s been a fair bit of conjecture, especially post-New Forum, about the amount of engagement on here compared to the good old days.  It’s certainly less vocal/aggressive that’s for sure.  But putting that aside, the events of today show there are plenty of very decent folk on here willing to help a fellow rider in crisis.  Credit to all.
