I live in a rural area and I know what a rabbit looks like, I know what a hare looks like but we have this recent visitor in our garden who looks like a bit of both and I know they don't cross breed. Will try and get a better photo than this one (which looks more like a marmot), it is the size of a normal adult rabbit (smaller than a hare), has really long ears with black tips and is fawn coloured (like a hare), it puts its ears back when spotted and sits still (like a hare), but hops away (like a rabbit) rather than running (like a hare). It's always on its own, not with other rabbit visitors. Young hare or some weird breed of escaped pet rabbit? I've heard the bald man joke too.
Not allowed to shoot and eat it yet though, at least not until I get a better picture.

Its not a wallaby is it?

Whereabouts are you?

If it wasn't for the ears, I'd be thinking coypu.

It's a Jackalope, it's antlers have yet to re-grow; too early in the season.

I love the way that honey badger skids to a halt. Probably shouting "Bring it you stripy *****!"

Looks very much like my Reggae rabbit, presumed RIP. Ran/hopped away to live with a donkey up the road. Maybe your creature is a product of their mutant cross-breeding? Just over the border from you...
