As it says really
Bikes banned
Were going to go to Bath - bloody half marathon on.
Thinking York or Edinburgh
£200ish to spend (+booze)
Drinking = good
Walking = good
Being a tourist = acceptable

Any ideas?

Northumberland.
Such a fine place. Look around Wooler, Holy Island etc.

Depends how far you need to travel - York is fantastic but chocka with tourists at weekends, suspect Edinburgh may be the same.

Northumberland is heaven on earth if you have decent outdoor clothing in case it is wetand/or windy. Got a week up there at Easter and can't wait!

Had thought of the Dales or Northumberland. Don't know the area well though so whats to do and wheres good to stay? A proper pub for a Sunday lunch is always a winner.

Depends what you want, last two weekends away for us were

Nice B&B in the lakes, walking and meals out
The vineyards at Stockross, stupid 2 michelin star splurge with spa hotel

I bet you can guess which the Mrs preferred 🙄

or Newcastle. City is nice. Get a metro out to Tynemouth and take interesting walk to Whitley Bay and metro back. We got off at Palmersville last time, saw Mrs B's birthplace and walked into the city.

Or train towards Hexham / Corrbridge. Walk between stations.

Northumberland is really horrible. Don't go there whatever you do.

😉
