Planning on taking the girlfriend away for a weekend for her 30th in November, where would people recommend?

She loved Berlin when we were there and wants to go somewhere she hasn't been before which rules out Paris. We're currently thinking Barcelona, Madrid, Munich, Vienna, or Rome but I've been to all of those except Vienna so am (selfishly 😀 ) also looking for other options.

Has to be a direct flight from Manchester and be in Europe!

Good suggestions, thanks! We're thinking of doing a tour of South-Eastern Europe next summer so Budapest is on the agenda for that. Possibly can fit Vienna into that trip too!

A room from Air B&B with a DVD of Logan's Run.

*sorry*

Budapest is a lovely city. Take the city minibus from the airport, avoiding the rip-off taxis. Stay in the Novotel on the Danube and go to the Gellert baths. Walk around the market on the opposite bank to Gellert and get smashed on the fire water sold upstairs for a few pence a shot.

For a quickie though my sister and BIL went to Lucca in Italy, which they absolutely loved as it's mostly undiscovered by mass tourism.

Yeah, we went to Italy last summer which she also loved - I think with just a weekend though we want to do a city rather than a smaller place so we can cram more stuff in.

The crystal in my hand has been flashing for so long that I actually get the reference!

I took my wife to Florence and Venice last August for her 30th - we both loved it.

I was also looking at the Amalfi coast which looks stunning and could be combined with Florence for a beach and city break very easily.

London.

Seriously.

The most amazing city. Art, music, theatre, food, and more. Glorious parks, fascinating architecture. Great pubs, too.

If not, Jersey. Beaches, peace and quiet, and time... Stop rushing around, just stop and enjoy the world. Oh, and seafood!

Seeing as I loved it so much I have an apartment there, I would say Vienna. Only 2.5 hours away and if she loved Berlin she will love Vienna too.

Seville is much nicer than both Barcelona or Madrid. Big fan of Marrakesh or Fez but things ain't what they used to be so not sure how they are now.

What about Prague? For a weekend it's ideal as the old city is fairly compact.

They went all that way just for a quickie?

The old town in the middle of Riga was pretty good.

Lisbon. Fantastic place. We went at the end of October and temps were in the early-mid 20s so still t-shirt weather.

Put a number of names in a hat and get her to pick one.
I'd suggest:
Rome
Seville
Barcelona
Porto
Verona

Lisbon, I never quite got on with, I found it a bit run-down and over-rated.

Paris.

Yeah, I know you said you'd been there, but I can't believe you've seen everything, and even if you have, who can possibly ever tire of places like the Musee d'Orsay, or the Pantheon, or just cycling around on those funky bikes?
