I've a dead laser printer I need to get rid of. Apparently it can't go to the tip.

Recommendations for getting rid?

Most places that retail EEE have an obligation to take back WEEE, so try your local PC World. Try council website as well, should inform you.

Currys offer a free recycling service, even if you haven't bought anything from them - info

Council website says very little apart from 'not us'.

Will PC World take stuff even if I'm not buying from them? Edit: looks like they will

Anywhere that sells electrical goods has a requirement under WEEE to accept goods even if they haven't sold it. Therefore pretty much any shop selling electrical items have a duty to take items.
I know my local tip does but reading above I guess it varies.
