Me and mrs iolo are both tour guides in Austria. She also has a wool company that sells hand made stuff and kits in craft fairs. She also does knitting courses.
I am looking to create a website where we can have online booking system for the tours, be able to sell the woollen stuff and book the knitting courses.
Is there an online service that I could customise to our needs? As you might have noticed, I have no real idea what I'm on about with online stuff so the more idiot friendly it is, the better.

If your knowledge is so low that you have to ask on here, then I would seriously consider getting someone else to do it for you who knows what they are doing.

Basics websites are fine, but when you start taking payments you need to know what you are doing.

I was absolutely about someone else doing it.
Could anyone recommend a provider that might already have an easy to custom system?

Find someone who will do it for you. They should be able to show you what's needed and what underlying system they recommend/are used to using. Choosing a system and then finding someone to customise it for you is going the wrong way about it really.

Just get a wordpress site, there are plugins for everything. There will be loads of tutorials on youtube for wordpress too.

There are hundreds. You will find, though, that any system you find will not do *exactly* as you want and you'll end up making compromises so be prepared to alter the way you process things.

We have done many ski chalet websites and several use online booking engines (third-party) yet they never quite work perfectly. Just recently we launched a book/payment system for a client using an integration they thought was 100% perfect out of the box. Much faff later they realised it wasn't and they had to pay for various enhancements to get it working in a way that suited their particular requirements.
