Getting the data from the Excel file on this page via Excel's inbuilt functionality isn't a problem
http://www.content.digital.nhs.uk/catalogue/PUB23540

I know the next data release will be in a file named "nhs-staf-mar-2017-summ.xlsx" & the download link will be "Healthcare Workforce Statistics, England March 2017, Tables [.xlsx]" (which might not matter), I just don't know which page it will appear on (the "PUB23540" of the URL).

Any clues how to automate picking future files up (there are many other files to be harvested from the same site & automation would be preferable)?

Using Excel/VBA could be a goer, but I'd have thought would be clunky as hell. If this kind of thing is poss. with Python that'd be a bonus as I've just started learning it (my first foray into "real" programming).
