We are in the process of re-designing the website for our small graphic design business.
We have a copy of Fireworks as part of Adobe Creative Suite 4, and are developing some design ideas.
Converting this to code and CSS in Dreamweaver is way outside our skillset, my question is will we save time and money by doing the design bit (which is what we do) in Fireworks and then get a techy web type person to do the Dreamweaver bit?
I think yes, though I'd not touch Dreamweaver - but I've never got on with Adobe software, or Dreamweaver since v3 🙁
Hi WGA
I'm a freelance "techy web type person". Would happily give you a quote to do the Dreamweaver bit if your interested?
Email is in profile.
I'd say it would be much cheaper (not necessarily quicker though) to do the design yourself, as long as you take into account how the site will be built during the design process.
Not saying you will, but in my experience I've found that graphic designers will often include elements that can be a nightmare to code up into layouts, and overlook some of the basic principles of effective web design and accessability.
Thanks for the replies:
Vanilla83, I may well be in touch, we are still at the design stage so once we have worked these up I would be interested in a cost indication once you have seen what we would like.
Karl33to: Good point, will bear that in mind as us designers can be quite "precious" on some elements. 😉
