Really looking forward to today's match (Brasil v Portugal). On paper it *should* be a cracker.

final runout for the north koreans

cant imagine either brazil or portugal are in the least bothered by how they finish the group.

I am sure they will - neither team will want to lose - always good to keep momentum and confidence going into the the next round.

it will be a dull as ditchwater draw, with a full 22 prima donnas not wanting to get hurted.

I suspect Portugal aren't that keen on finishing third but that would take a lot of goals

that would take a lot of goals

2 and counting...
10-0 to Ivory Coast and 1-0 to Brazil, Portugal out...
It would be nice to see at least one African team in the next round.

Do a team get a free toaster or something if they collect enough yellow cards?

The first half hour of the 2nd half is the first bit of world cup football I have missed.

I don't regret it one bit!

Well that's one perforated eardrum and the loss of a good pair of undies after a firecracker was set off a few metres away from me 😯 Brazil seems pretty happy but the crowd were a bit tense for the game and not their normal up for it selves.

Very nice. Keeper was a bit out of position though. Reckon the Chileans could be their own worse enemy in this one. They need to calm down a bit.

Brazil are all over Holland - great match so far. Would love to be watching it in Brazil though. Poor TV coverage so far - no lingering shots of busty Brazialian ladies jumping around in the stands 😥

Yes. Oh, you seem to have misspelt football. Unless of course you were making some sort of joke. In which case Ha. Ha. Ha. Etc.

Brilliant game, can't say I'm sad to see the back of Brazil, they must have the dirtiest back 4 in the competition. Kaka dived in the box, the ball went up the far end, Robben got hacked down for the umpteenth time in the game and the Brazilians all started crowding the ref claiming it was a dive.

Good riddens!

Well here's a report from Brazil. I can't speak too much Portuguese but can report some very choice language from their supporters. Those two Dutch lasses went down very well, especially from the male contingent in the crowd. And I am now in the doghouse after sending my GF (who is in the south of Brazil right now) a text saying "Welcome to my world" after the final whistle. She texted me back saying I should be a lot more supportive and I really don't think she was joking 😯

Seriously?!

They spent the entire first half kicking the legs off Robben every time he got the ball. His opposite number was subbed off because he was one more challenge away from a second yellow card, and was lucky not to be off already. They had a man sent off for stamping. Juan shouldn't even have started the game after an obvious deliberate handball in the last game.

i couldnt stand for brazil to win and then defend it at home in 2014

still reckon the argies will take it, but would love to see the nederlanders have their moment.

I don't really know who I support tbh. Spain deserve a crack at the final after all this time; but Germany have endeared themselves to me with they way they played. I want the Netherlands to win the cup anyway so I don't care 🙂

+1. I kinda wanted the Germans to win because of how well they've played but I didn't find myself too disappoined when Puyol unleashed that heeder cos I'm enjoying Spain's game tonight. Germany vs Holland? Huge rivalry, great game*. Spain vs Holland? New winner, both very hungry for the win, great game*. Quids all round. (Well 'cpet for Grum if Spain win).

*This is an estimate aand not an actual guarantee of a great game.

EDIT: Hmm, I wonder what the odds on Germany getting an equaliser and taking this to penalties is..
