The cab headliner in Clive the T5 has started to droop pretty badly through age/sun etc. It needs replacing. My options seem to be, in order of increasing cost but decreasing tediousness:

1) Take it off, strip it, clean off all the old foam backing and glue, recover in 4-way stretch carpet liner. Cost will be about £50, but a long, messy, probably tricky (there are a lot of curves to get around) and very probably very frustrating job.

2) Buy a second hand headliner from a scrappy for £100, which will need a good clean and it's pretty mildewy, which may not all come off

3) Get the existing one stripped and relined by someone else, cost £150

WWSTWD?

3. All day long.... twice on a weekend.

Even if 3 was £300 i'm still taking it.

Option 1, dead easy. Where are you - I've got some high temp spray glue and LOADS of spare 4 way stretch carpet I just want rid of in York if you want to give it a whirl. Curves not a problem with 4 way stretch - start in the middle and work outwards...

Thing is, I still have memories of lining the back of the van it and having an absolute nightmare getting the stretch around the wheel arches - whatever the knack is, I didn't have it then and I doubt I've found it since...

Could you pump some adhesive under there and flip the van over while it sets?

I remember seeing Sagi van Headliner at Glastonbury a few years back - he was brilliant.
