Absolutely amazing waves at low tide Porthtowan today. Properly warm sunshine and most of the tourists havegone home. September rocks!

Loving it down here, been playing in the sea for the last 2 days and its set to continue for the next few weeks.
Apparently the surf is going to get bigger all week.
Pain in the arse for me as I am doing my lifeguard assessment on saturday.
Was amazing sitting on the board in the sea at newquay this afternoon

Shark - probably seen you then. It's my nearest break so surf there a lot. Had a sunny pint there after the surf with wife and little boy. Lush!

I was there for 12 days all told.

Fond memories of the place and people there. Worked at the eco park for a bit, hoped to make SAS ball but couldn't. I'll be back.

Shark - nope and don't even own one! Reside in a real house with a roof and even curtains...;-) Live near Truro by the river. Pleasant but lacks swell...

You make your wee boy drink! 😉

Only joking and jealous because I was stuck up here working in a horrible office 🙂

Weekend is looking promising. Wind might mess stuff things up but some corner somewhere will be working.

Gah! Jealous. Since moving away from the east coast I'm not getting regular surf at all. Crossing fingers for some waves on the south coast when I'm down there next month.

Pretty damn chunky this morning! Got a few proper pastings as well as some super fast rides. Very nice!

Nope, three colds in four weeks stuffed my training plan right up so I've pulled out. If it was a pool tri I'd still do it but I'm in no shape for a 750m open water swim.

Jam - shame. Was looking forward to saying hello!

Was a bit worried about the swim (doing it in tri shorts) but managed a 1km effort from Daymer to Greenaway against the incoming tide on Saturday so feeling a bit more confident. Did the distance on a road bike then ran on Sunday too - all okay but it was knackering!

Surf-mat you are a lucky git.
East coast of scotland is flat.
This weekend however could get quite interesting...
Provided you can stand up in the wind

Dan - didn't you just have a macking great swell? Seen pics of Cayton area further down the coast looking amazing a few days ago.

Not sure about the wind so thought I'd get a couple of surfs in while I could in case it blows a hoolie!

To be fair yes we did. Though it has merely whetted my appetite for more.
I'm in aberdeen and Nigg bay scared the crap out of my when i paddled out the other day. 🙂
Pulling into solid overhead waves on a longboard is a new experience for me.

i've carried my entry over to next years event. Planning on getting my swimming up to scratch over winter and then doing a few more next summer.

Part of me fancies the perranporth tri but its supposed to be one of the hardest short tri's in the country.
