Cheers

Have a look at some of the Montane jackets on CRC with ~40% off.

I've found the stealth is only good for the road/commute.its always been too hot for mtbing. I used a endurance Venturi all last week in biblical type rain conditions and it was great.worst bit is the Lycra cuff thingys but the jckt is great

The mt500 from endura is amazing. I sweat like a pig in anything but this stayed comfy. It to has the neoprene cuffs but you can take them out. I also have the new Altura mayhem. Not used much yet but very comfy too. Their attack stuff is really nice. Had a jacket and still have the shorts.

Never really considered a jacket with a hood in the past but got a 1/2price Hagloff jacket from Cotswold recently and it is ace. Big hood goes over helmet as it is designed for climbing ๐Ÿ˜€
The CRC Montane Photon would be my choice, I already have an older Velocity DT which has served me well for 3-4yrs 8)

A new dpm British army jacket. Nothing else for me. Before this I avoided even the chance of rain.

I've seen a few reccomendations on here for it, I'd have a search if I where you.

Depends if you run hot or not. If you do, you'll struggle to find anything that copes well in the rain AND that still breathes. Most beathability tests are done when it's not raining.

I have a Pace 3x3 which is eVent. It's pretty good, but I still get warm when its raining.

Consider maintenance - you need to keep the jacket beading the water off it to keep it waterproof/breathable.
