Whats good (and sensibly priced) out there at the moment? Needs to be waterproof and breathable with taped seams, doesn't need to be especially warm as I'd layer up and it'll be used mostly for walking.

I like the Jack Wolfskin Texapore jackets. Never had one leak and much more preferable than Goretex
I like my Keela. Mine is issued for work and has been outstanding in all conditions. From their website the Munro looks to be the closest equivalent.

What I did aa couple of months ago. Montane alpine endurance eVent. £150 at Gaynor but gooutdoors will price match and knock another 10% off bargain. Mine want even the same color or size, just rang then up and they match straight away. Really nice coat.
I miss the Drizabone I had in Oz.
It had leg straps so you could wrap the skirt around your legs. Be just the job in sleet.
