Hey,

We've just moved into our new home, and our washing machine is about 2cm too tall to fit under the counter. Taking the feet off gives us about 1cm.

Are they all the same size? Really puzzled!

Cheers

Ricks

Usually similar.. Worktops can obviously be installed a bit low potentially.

Is there a brace under the counter?

There are two sizes of course: what the yanks call 'economy' (and the rest of the world calls normal-sized), and the XXL North American standard that can fit a king-sized duvet.

Also, some come with a pedestal thing that they stand on - but in that case the difference would be c15cm or so, right? With that height difference it sounds like an oddly-positioned counter

They 'should' be the same height in the UK, but you need to take measurements. The depth varies massively - we wanted a flush fit, so unit 600mm deep, but with pipes, meant 540-560 max. Many are 600 plus deep.

Could be that the existing kitchen is fitted a little low ?

My money is on a new floor covering having been laid to sell the house around the existing kitchen and into the washing machine space ...
