As above really, I spotted it in my facebook feed yesterday and I'm pretty tempted.

https://www.wales360.com/

Anyone else going?

I'm simply not up to that, I'm having a good year this year and I might just hit 1300kms for the year. I've ridden I think 90km in a day, maybe I could do two days in a row, but that would be a big ask for my legs and there aren't enough hours in the day for me to train up to that standard.

Its £1310 per person and you have to ride as a minimum team of 2. Thats a LOT of money to ride in Wales and stay in a tent someone has put up for you.

We drive to alps and DH for a fortnight for that much money, bit we do have to put our own tent.

Sounds pretty cool, but then:

Individual Entry ‘Early Bird’ £1310.00

What the actual ****?  Seriously!

Seems to me the kind of people who could turn out that kind of distance and elevation six days running are the kind who would be carrying their own kit.

Looks like a cracking route though.

I'm not sure who this event is aimed at TBH, triathletes looking to be adventurous? It's being run by Sweetspot who organise the Tour series, tour of Britain and tour of Yorkshire road races.

The Bearbones events cost £30 or so, "profits" go to the Welsh Air Ambulance. There was a thread in May about the Welsh 360 on the BB forums - let's just say the sarcasm was turned up a notch 🙂

OK, £1300 quid for a week in Wales. I'm doing the Rovaniemi 150 again next year. Race entry fee: £266. Flight (inc bike) £320. Accommodation: (this is a B&B not a tent 'cos it's February on the Arctic Circle) £422. So that's £1008. And I have the chance to see Santa Claus (extra payment required)! The £1300 doesn't include getting to the event either.

I didn't even clock the price, oh hell no. IF and it's a massive IF I managed to ride 90k for 5 days, I don't think I could face another night on a camp bed.

I notice that they are encouraging ebike entries, which is fab, obviously. Anyone managed to get 90km/2400m of ascent out of a battery? Could be a trying last 50 miles or so if you set out in turbo mode...

EDIT: Oh, you take a spare battery and it gets handed to you at the halfway point!
